Delegation of the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency – Apex-Brasil
Our Executive Director Nuno Gustavo Martins and our partner Frederico Bussinger, former Director of the Port of Santos and President of the Port of São Sebastião, were part of the committee from Agencia De Promocao De Exportacoes Do Brasil – Apex-Brasil that visited, on Wednesday, 31st, the Port of Esbjerg, located in the far west of Denmark.
A fishing port until half a century ago, the port has developed as a logistical support base for oil and gas exploration in the North Sea. Today it also supports the operation and maintenance of the wind farms that cover the coast of the country, and serves as a platform for final assembly and shipment of the giant power plants and wind turbines to be installed in the Sea.
In very similar conditions to those existing in Maranhão, the Alcântara Port Terminal -TPA could become a support base similar to Esbjerg for the exploration of oil and gas from the recently discovered Equatorial Basin, and the rich wind potential of the region.
