GPM invited by ApexBrasil to be part of the “Brazil Mission” delegation to the ONS 2022 Conference and Exhibition in Stavanger
GPM – Grão-Pará Maranhão, a company based in São Luís, owner of the Alcântara Port Terminal – TPA and of the Maranhão Railroad – EF-317 (connecting Alcântara to Açailândia), was invited by ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) to be part of the “Brazil Mission” delegation to the ONS 2022 Conference and Exhibition in Stavanger, Norway, from August 29th to September 2nd.
This international conference is held every two years and gathers the main players in the fossil (oil and gas) and renewable (solar, wind, hydrogen) energy markets and counts with the world’s leading experts and the presence of global personalities such as Elon Musk (in person) and Volodymyr Zelensky (videoconference) at the opening ceremony on 08/29.
GPM is represented by the Executive Director Nuno Gustavo Martins and by Frederico Bussinger, former Director of the Port of Santos and former President of the Port of São Sebastião. The mission also includes PETROBRAS PETROLEO BRASILEIRO SA, which is developing studies on oil in the Equatorial basin (near Maranhão), the ANP (National Association of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels), the EPE (Energy Research Company of the Ministry of Mines and Energy), the ABE (Brazilian Wind Energy Association) and IBP (Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas).
The Equatorial Basin and the potential to combine several types of energy, both fossil and renewable, was one of the competitive advantages of Brazil (and Maranhão) that the Brazilian delegation presented to major investors in the sector.
